“When people feel valued, understood and connected to a shared purpose, extraordinary things happen.”

People sometimes ask me why I care so much about leadership. The answer began long before I ever held a leadership position.

I grew up on a farm, where hard work was simply part of life. Everyone contributed. You looked out for others and got on with what needed to be done. I also learned that the better you did something, the greater the reward, not simply in what you received, but in the satisfaction of knowing you'd done it well.

At nineteen, I became a manager. I was young, I had plenty to learn, and suddenly I was responsible not only for getting my own job done, but for other people and how they got their jobs done.

That was the beginning of decades of learning about leadership, sometimes getting it right, sometimes getting it wrong, and discovering that people will teach you an extraordinary amount if you are prepared to listen.

Six years ago, I took everything I had learned through my career and began building my own business around helping organisations and their people achieve exactly that.

MY PHILOSOPHY ON LEADERSHIP

Leadership is an act of service.

I've never believed leadership is about having all the answers. I believe it's about helping other people discover theirs.

Whether I'm working with CEOs, frontline staff, boards, or multicultural teams, my goal is always the same: understand where you want to go, uncover what's getting in the way, then design practical solutions that actually work in your world.

People often tell me I make difficult conversations feel safe, complex problems feel achievable, and learning enjoyable. That's probably because I genuinely love people. I'm endlessly curious about what makes us different, what brings us together, and how we can use those differences to build stronger workplaces rather than divide them.

THE LEGEND BRAND STORY

Our Logo: Leadership in Action

At the heart of the design are people, symbolising how they are at the core of great leadership. Their arms linked together signify teamwork, unity and alignment, highlighting the comfort and strength that comes from working closely together.

The people are held in the palm of the leader's hand, representing the essence of transformational leadership: the art of weaving diverse people together and guiding them with care, respect and vision.

The Legend brand was developed with Kate Engel of Kate Engel Creative Design, an exceptional graphic design and communications expert who has worked alongside me to develop Legend TLC’s strategic and marketing plan and bring the brand to life. I’m delighted to recommend her.
